Lookin to upgrade my monitor. Post some links please. Looking for best bang for buck. Needs to be under 500 bucks Min 144hz and around 30" or close. No real preferences on picture as long as it is at least 1080. Been looking at LG, Acer, and BenQ but I don't know much on monitor brands.

Hard drive suggestions

As some of you know I lost a hard drive a few months back. It was my secondary drive for game storage. I need a new one so I can play more than one or two games. Post up links for cheap high speed magnetic drives or reasonably priced solid state drives. Don't need any higher than 500 gigs right now. Looking for cheap but decent quality at least. I am not knowledgeable enough when it comes to PCs to pick one myself. Thanks

GSync 144hz and HDMI?
by Guest RET.CPT.Hammerwolf53=US=- 11 replies

I'm looking at a few 27 inch 144hz refresh IPS monitor right now. These are expensive but meet the specs I've been waiting for. The size I like because well, it's bigger. I tend to have problems with 60hz monitors. (Have a 144hz TN panel right now). I do some Photoshop so I prefer the color representation of the IPS panel. Question: The monitors that have GSync only have a HDMI input. I was under the impression that you can only achieve 144hz through DVI. Has HDMI achieved that goal now?

GPU upgrade

Ok guys, I am thinking of upgrading to 1440p before I make the leap to 4K. I can get a single GTX 980 Ti for $650 or buy a second (used) EVGA 780 Ti SC for ~$400 and SLI. I'm leaning toward upgrading to the 980 Ti because I could grab a second one later for SLI in 4K. However, adding a second 780 Ti would be cheaper and I could wait until the next generation of cards come out to possibly pick up a single card solution for 4K. What do you guys think? Also, would anybody be interested in buying my 780 Ti if I went to the 980 Ti?

Hello, I've got my old pc that I want to upgrade and clean up a bit, so I had some cool idea. Install LED strips! I have no clue about how much my PSU can take so I need advice. Since yesterday I bought these 2 LED strips that are 12v each, and I want to install them on my 2 4-pin connectors of my PSU (VS450, http://www.corsair.com/en-us/vs-seriestm-vs450-450-watt-power-supply) I don't know if I need to inform some more about my other specs, I'll just put the links down below. I just don't want to fry anything in my rig before I attach my led strips. Graphic card 1; http://www.amazon.com/MSI-Computer-Corp-270-GAMING/dp/B00GMGGZQE Graphic card 2; http://www.amaz…

Mineral Oil PC
by Guest COMR4DE- 2 replies

Hey Guys, Just been doing a bunch of research today and I got a solid plan for building a mineral oil submerged PC. Curious if anyone here currently runs one and if they have any pointers? I do plan on going through with this so don't bother trying to convince me otherwise ;) Though I will listen to constructive feedback and suggestions. For those who are unaware, a PC submerged in Mineral Oil is intended to dissipate heat in a greater capacity than through traditional methods of air and fans. Mineral oil works in this fashion because it is non conductive, so you caa throw your mother board, CPU, GPU, Power Supply unit, even your SSD (not traditional Hard drive o…

Need some serious help

Now that I'm getting more serious about gaming on my PC I've decided it's time to try and save for a new setup. Currently I just have an Alienware 14x laptop with a Naga keyboard and mouse. I also have my laptop hooked up via HDMI to a 19" TV screen. I like my keyboard and mouse, but I want to go away from the laptop setup. I need a pretty decent sized screen due to a scar on my cornea that destroyed my near sighted vision. Unfortunately for me I studied software engineering and not computer engineering so I can make programs, but god help me if I ever tried to build a computer. So I need help with understanding which processors are the best for my money as well as graphi…
