I just did an overhaul of my rig in prep for BF4, and I've been using a cruddy 7 year old 19 in HP monitor I got with my very first PC. No point in having the extra pop if I can't actually see the difference. Anyone got suggestions for monitors? My desk isn't deep, so I don't want something huge that I have to sit miles away from in order to see what's going on. Cost isn't really an issue. I'm just looking for something good quality that's going to let me see my games the way they're meant to be seen.

i sit about half a foot away from my 38" tv, its so awesome it makes my eyes bleed.

being serious now, check out box stores, all my tv's and monitors i've payed less then half the sticker priced by waiting for sales or buying display models, i got a 52" Sony in the living room that i payed 300 for because it was a display model with 2 dead pixels.

If not check out newegg, ncix etc.

Since you said that price doesn't matter, here is my suggestion:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C2RPW8O/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=2RMWZOA0D4FUH&coliid=I2HCVKH0TQVH1C

If you want to use what I currently have and love, here it is:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004YCMEJU/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_ttl?_encoding=UTF8&colid=KX8KAK0EA89S&coliid=IB3SWY3BVGB2R

Quite a price difference, but maybe someone with extremely good vision might be able to tell the difference. I probably can't.

IF you want smooth game play, and have the ability to notice the high frame rates.

Go with 120hz monitor or better, with a 3-5ms actual response time(not talking about GTG, marketing gimmick).

Asus

BenQ

I personally use an AOC monitor. I recommend AOC, Acer, or BenQ.

Definitely look for a monitor with 5ms response time or faster. Mine is 2ms, and the BenQ ones sometimes are even 1ms.

I have to say, LED is also the way to go! Noticeable difference from LCD. Hook up with HDMI. Make sure it's 1920x1080 or better resolution.

A good monitor with all these points is around $250 - $400 (at least here in Canada)
