I have 3 internal HD's 1 external HD (always plugged in) 2 DVD burners and a CD Burner a wireless card and a power consuming 8500. With all that I have a 500W PSU, and no problems. So even if you get all that (which you aren't yet and probably won't get that many drives anyway) with SLi you won't need to go any higher than 650W.
Nehalem ftw. Suppose to be a 30% increase in performance than C2D. Coming out Q1 2009.
Wrong, comming October 2008 :D Still, Nehalem processors will cost far too much, and require DDR3 RAM...so it's either wait for Nehalem processors and overspend, build a rig with DDR3 to make upgrading easier, or build a top-tier rig you will stick with for a year or two...

well xp is good, dont go vista. but xp 32 bit will only let you have 3.5gig max. i have xp 64bit if you need it just holler and i mail it to you. try to get a motherboard with fully buffer ram capable, it will help u in the long run. trust me i have 4gig fully buffer ram. it coast a lil more but worth it. and technology will only go cheaper each day. and if you want fast, get motherboard with 2 cpu slot so you can have 4 core + 4 core = 8 core and thats extreme.

Back on topic: DDR3 prices are starting to drop, so now might be the time to stock up, especially if you plan to upgrade to Intel's new CPU line later. I'd go with either 1333 DDR3 or 1600 DDR3 (4GB for Vista; you can get away with 2GB for XP).

Vista 32 is the same it won't say you have more than 3 but will still use all 4. This has been fixed in SP1 though. I would probably recommend Vista over XP, its getting to the point where Vista is supported enough that it doesn't cripple gamers and it IS a better OS than XP just because there was poor support at launch and not many good drivers out ISN'T MS's fault. Plus more and more games are coming out for DX10 which is better than 9.0c and XP cant support DX10. I also have the ISOs for just about ever Microsoft (and mac and linux) OS disk, so if you want them let me know.

I wouldn't use Vista. I tried it a month or so ago and half my games would crash to windows immediately after starting up. Ghey.
