Guest MarkyGman Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Bought the follwing: 24 inch LG monitor 1920x1080 monitor to replace my 19 inch 1280x1024. EVGA GeForce GTX 550 Ti Superclocked 1024MB to replace my 9800 GT x 2 in SLI. My current rig is a Intel Core 2 Q6600 quad core @ 2.4 ghz. 8 GB of 800mhz RAM So I bought a : Coolermaster Hyper 212 Plus Direct Touch 4 Heatpipe Heatsink CPU Cooler. Probably be able to OC the CPU to 3.2-3.4 stable. I currently run BF3 @ 1280x1024 on medium settings. I'm hoping i'll be able to run 1920x1080 on high settings. (any thoughts) So my question is .... is there any benefit to keeping one of the 9800 GT's in the system as a dedicated PhysX card, or should I just have the 550 take care of everything on its own?
Guest iNoizZ Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 I think you should go with the GTX 550 Ti. This is a great example with a GTX580 and a 8600GT. Even though the performance of your cards are closer to eachother, you will get the best performance without your 9800GT! -iNoizZ
Guest MarkyGman Posted December 28, 2011 Posted December 28, 2011 Thank you iNoizz that was exactly what i was looking for. Guess i'll have to find another use for those 9800's lol.
