Not too terrible, but I tell you, if my wife is online as well, I can't do anything and it takes forever to load sites. I can't watch certain movies cuz it moves so slow...thoughts anyone?

Is that DSL? If so they lock up a lot when multiple machines are accessing the internet. If its cable doing that then I would suggest getting a faster connection. How old is your router/modem? Don;t thing they would make too much of a difference but Mine did at one point. Had to get a new one. Well that's all i got.

Not sure what he has, but he is at the in-laws so he might just want to wait a little to get his own.

How can she be online if she's in the kitchen making you a sandwich? haha j/k

There's not a whole lot you can do. A new modem/router MIGHT help. You could complain to the provider if you aren't getting what you pay for.

check out mine it will at least make you feel better ;)

Those connections are dying on you. You should be where I'm at or better, Especially running more than one computer.

Yay for crappy Canadian ISPs and our limited download/uploads.

12 mbps is more than enough for multiple computer usage. it all depends on what your wife is doing when she is online. Is she downloading/torrenting/streaming? If that's the case, even having 30-50+ mbps won't help you because those programs are designed to hog up all the bandwidth.

12 mbps is over 1.5 megabytes a second. She needs to be doing a lot of downloading to be stealing that much bandwidth away from you. Let me know what programs she is using when you are trying to play and you can try to put hard limits on it.

Your jitter is kinda high, so the other question is, how is your network set up? Are you using wireless? Are you using very long cables?

hey decayed, she is just browsing the internet like me...no d/ls or anything. It's all wireless which could be a problem too

Hmm, well with just browsing it really shouldn't be an issue. Are you using wireless because it's too far to your router?

There are some network monitoring tools you can download to kind of analyze what kind of data is going out and where. I dunno if you can try one of those and see if there is some rogue traffic goin on.

Same ISP as you Dental, out of curiosity do you get throttle as well? AKA you start out at 20 mb/s then quickly fall off to lower. What is sad is you get a better ping than me too.
