I went to sleep with my pc working fine and on. Turned off the monitor & woke up this morning with my monitor switching between Analog and Digital and not responding to the PC. So I figured let me try loading up on Safe Mode. I can get in and look at my screen and everything but no matter what I do I cannot get my monitor to work in Normal startup. Anyone know how to fix this? I need to print something out for work today and its on this PC and I can't load it up in Safe mode.

There is a couple different methods to get it to come up correctly again. Probably best understood/talked about on TS or something although. 1 Thing you can try is: Go to Start > Run > Type in MSconfig When the screen pops up select "Normal Startup" and try loading it normally. This will tell your computer to load only Basic/Needed Drivers so it works without extra poping up (Xfire/Steam ETC that starts up when your computer loads up). You can also try the Debug Option(May disable your internet when loads if it is Controlled by a Driver.)

Wait, I don't understand what you are describing. Can you see anything on your monitor? Or is it just flashing a black screen? (green light flashing?)

May or may not be pertinent but the timing is interesting. If you have auto Windows updates enabled, there was an update pushed out last night (LINK HERE) KB2454826: This update provides new functionality and performance improvement for the graphics platform. This update provides performance improvements when you print from XPS-based applications to GDI-based print drivers. This update resolves some streaming issues that are related to Media Foundation.

First re-seat your Video Card. If that doesn't work then try removing the card and using the on-board video to see if it is a card issue. If that doesn't work then you can either pull your CMOS battery or reset the Bios of your Motherboard.

Hey Covert, there is an option if you press F8 while windows is loading to load Windows in VGA 640x480 mode. See if it works there. It's a bit different from safe mode cause it still loads all drivers except for ur video. If it works in this mode, then it could be a driver related issue, if not, probably something else. What kind of card do you have?

you got another monitor/tv you could try to connect it to so you can possibly do a system restore? what decayed mentioned should have worked.

With the help of SonicMulisha and someones above post, we have fixed it! It was an automatic windows update that messed it up. Uninstalled & reinstalled.
