Guest Chavez Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 We had some pretty gnarly spiders in Japan. My favorite (least favorite?) is the Japanese variant of the Brown Hunstman. I snagged a decent photo of this one just outside my front door (a shade under 7 inches across). It proceeded to jump through my front door as I retreated back into the building. I seriously considered giving him the house and starting fresh, but I ended up subletting him one of the rooms instead. I had seasonal nest of these things in the drain pipe on my street. During the rainy season, they tend to look for shelter withing structures... like my house. I must say, I appreciated the fact that they kept the cockroaches in check, but you must understand... these spiders are enormous and they run faster than you can walk. You can hear them eating a roach from the next room with the door closed, and when they jump, they make an audible thumping noise on the floor. Oh, and they have a penchant for watching you sleep.

Guest Chavez Posted August 7, 2010 Posted August 7, 2010 This pretty much sums it up. http://www.weirdtales.net/wordpress/2007/10/23/the-year-of-ninja-spiders/
Guest Chavez Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 By they way, I'd just like to point out that the spider in my picture has eyes large enough to reflect the camera's flash.
Guest RET.SSG.Spartan0189=US= Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 I don't really like spiders.. I don't like many bugs either, spiders might be my number one. /shivers @ Chavez's pic
