I had no idea you were in ireland zero! My family immigrated to Canada from Cork and many are still there down south! I tend to go back every few years to see them all!

I've heard that St. Patrick's day in Ireland is a huge religious holiday and is actually a very somber day. I must have heard wrong.

LCpl, it is about christianity. They celebrate how St. Patrick showed and explained chrisianity. For example the holy trinity (not the chick from Matrix) was explained by him using the shamrock
