Hey all,

Many have come to me asking what my setup is like, so I decided to post that here. It has taken me a little over a year to get all of the right gear so that I am able to stream as professional as possible. I also realize I may not have all top-end gear: but if you have seen some of my streams, you will see that it doesn't take super expensive gear to get a good-looking stream.

Let's get the primary stuff out of the way:

Main Gaming Rig:

WIN10 Pro

CPU: Intel 5820K 3.3GHz, cooled with Corsair H100i

GPU: MSI GTX 970 GAMING 4G Golden Edition

Mobo: Asus ROG Rampage V Extreme Extended ATX X99 LGA 2011-V3

RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws 4 Series 16GB DDR4 @1866MHz

HDD(s): x2 Samsung 840 EVO 240GB, 1,2,3 TB HDD's

Audio: Sound Blaster X7 Limited Edition

Cans: Sennheiser HD650

Headset: Sennheiser G4ME ZERO (white)

Monitor(s): BENQ XL2720Z, Asus VH236H

Webcam: Logitech HD Pro Webcam C920

Mic: BLUE Snowball (black) in a RINGER mount on a Studio Microphone Arm Stand

Speakers: Genius GX Gaming 5.1

Keyboard: Corsair K70 Cherry MX Blue

Mouse: Logitech G502 Proteus Core

Wireless Router: Asus AC3100 with 125MBPS Internet

Laptop:

Asus ROG G751JT-CH71 with 16GBs of RAM and a GTX970M GPU

Phew...now that all of THAT is out of the way, let's get down to HOW I have my stream setup. Currently, I have a green screen mounted on a mobile garment rack behind me. You can find green screens anywhere online, but look for the thickest material (because of the light-bleed that can occur behind you). And yes, to answer the questions that might be raised: I am already saving up to purchase the Razer Stargazer when it releases. This is a webcam with 3 lenses! It has Dynamic Background removal - basically it scans your face in 3D, and removes the background, eliminating the need for a green screen! Simply amazing!

Also, to FINALLY get the lighting just right: I purchased Studio Lighting off of Amazon. http://www.amazon.com/Fancierstudio-Light-lighting-portrait-DK2/dp/B004TSCARK?ie=UTF8&psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

Now, I am not officially endorsing ANY product on this post, but these lights were super affordable and have been awesome so far.

Also, if you need tips and tricks of the trade for streaming, head on over to the PA Thread and take a look at the post titled "Streamers Guidelines". http://clanunknownsoldiers.com/barracks/showthread.php?29479-Streamers-Guidelines

Very nice! I believe you said you had around 16,000 views to date. I think everyone appreciates your efforts!

BTW: I still think you need a unique identifying trademark or feature for your streaming.

Are you still considering that doughboy helmet?

BTW: Is that pledge you use for dusting? Your computer room looks so nice! Would you consider stopping by and cleaning my messy computer room? ;)

Thanks 1SG! Currently, we have 14,625 viewers and 97 Followers!

I am still considering doing something as a trademark for my streams. We have actually been discussing where we will go from here with the stream within PA :)

And yes, I usually keep my studio very clean. I believe it adds to the professionalism of the stream, even though most people have no idea what my studio looks like :)

This has been helpful for looking at what I may need to get in the future for a possible streaming rig. Thanks for the info. Sadly I cannot take a peak at the Streamer's Guidelines because it is meant for clan members. :( Happens.

Nomad,

I created that guide, but didn't intend for it to be limited to members only. I will contact the PA Department and see what I am allowed to share.

In the meantime, you are always free to reach out to me via PM or on other gaming services for advice or whatever you might need. I would be happy to share what I have learned to anyone who is willing to listen :)
