On Thursday 24th of September I went to the Euro Gamer Expo 2015 that was hosted at the NEC in Birmingham. It was the 3rd time I got to go to the Eurogamer expo and this year it was the biggest so far. With 75 000 attendees it is the biggest gaming show in UK. I played almost all of the games including all major games and those I have not had the patience to stand in a queue I watched others play. Let the reviewing begin :

TIME SPENT IN THE QUEUE : 45 Minutes

There were 2 demo's to choose from. 10 minutes Free Roam session and 20 minutes Tournament mode. I opted for the latter and slightly regretted it as the game locked me in one mission and one goal : Cause as much damage as you can in 90 seconds. After that you get a retry and you can submit the highest score to win prizes. If your score was the highest one for the day you win a free copy of the game for a platform of your choice. If your score is the highest one for the whole week of the show you win a PS4 Limited Edition + Just Cause game + 4K Sony Bravia TV. My score was 34 000 which was the highest of the people I played with so hopefully they contact me with good news. The game graphic and sound design is really good and the only issue I have was the control scheme. Platform that I got to play on was PC.

TIME SPENT IN THE QUEUE : 4 HOURS 10 MINUTES

Wow... This was the biggest drag I had to go through. 4 hours of queueing just to play a 15 minutes demo. It was the same mission they got to play on E3. The game crashed 3 minutes in and we had to wait for 10 minutes for another set of PC's to play on, however the staff were amazing and gave us free stuff for our trouble. We got to play in 3 man teams that were coordinated by one of the developers. He would coach us via the headset on the game mechanics and lore. It was a blast. Graphically it is not the game that was showcased when it first appeared at E3 2013, but it still looks and plays amazing. The encounters were tense and gameplay was really smooth and challenging even against AI who were surprisingly smart. No wonder the queue was so darn long. Platform I got to play on was PS4.

TIME SPENT IN A QUEUE : 1 Hour 50 minutes

I can already see this game being quite a contender for a "Streaming and E-Sports game". The amount of hype to make this game into an E-Sports title was staggering. We got to play on a special stage with commentators and people watching us from the crowd booing every death and cheering after every kill. The game was really great although the low FOV of the Xbox that we got to play on really killed the game for me a little. Also the controls on the console were a bit wonky but we still had a blast. Possibly one of the best booths of the show with amazing sound equipment, controllers and seating for all the players. The platform I got to play on was Xbox One.

TIME SPENT IN QUEUE : 0 minutes

It is an Assasin's Creed game. Another one. It is played with a controller. I got a tattoo from a girl in a costume. That concludes my Assassin's Creed experience.

TIME SPENT IN QUEUE : 2 Hours

Last but not least possibly the biggest game of the show. Queues were massive but we managed to sneak in behind some of my friends at the corner and nobody noticed. Otherwise we would have had to stand in there for a lot longer. The game is everything that every Star Wars fan dreams of. What we were given were 2 sessions. 20 minutes Walker Assault mode and around 10 minutes 6-Round Wave defense mode against Imperials in the Canyon. In the Walker assault I joined the glorious empire and managed to get myself in a Tie Fighter right off the start and get a couple of kills. The AT-ST was a hard beast to drive and shoot from but until the rocket spam started I was decimating the Rebels with ease. The sound was simply AMAZING and the graphical side was just like it was taken from the movies. It was silky smooth 60 FPS, high FOV, 1080p gameplay. Overall I had FANTASTIC time with both modes. Platform that I got to play on was PS4.

TORNADO ENERGY DRINKS PROMOTION

The biggest hit of the show was actually an Energy Drink promo that was launched to showcase the Just Cause 3 game. The energy drink is absolutely disgusting in taste but it comes in a resealable can which is the first time I seen such a device. The best part was how they were promoting the damn thing. As soon as you get into the Expo a guy on steroids rushes towards you with a six pack of 1 litre cans of this monstrosity and literally yells at you : "DON'T JUST WIN! DO DAMAGE!!!!!". Then he shoves those cans and moves to another person. It does not help when you walk by him about 30 minutes later that he does the same thing AGAIN!. Over the course of the expo I was aporached by him about 7-8 times and I now have around 30 cans of this thing in my house. Why...

THE REST OF THE SHOW

I tried to cover most of the games from the show but there is just too much stuff and I don't have that much time to write about every single game so I will post the rest of the games in this sections. Homefront the Revolution was ABYSMAL in terms of performance and controls and it was the only game that I walked out of playing before my time with the demo was up. Mirror's Edge was a carbon copy of the first game with more graphics and more new stuff so I guess it's ok. Guitar Hero and Rockband were really fun especially with the new Guitar Hero controller. VR experience was FANTASTIC. Sony demo really nailed it in terms of emotions and immersion and every VR game I got to try on was a stunning experience. This is where to future is for sure. Falout 4 has been shown but was not playable. Halo 5 was playable but the queue was just too much. No one wanted to play the new Forza so I did not queue in for that. The indie game section took half the show and some of the titles such as Gang Beasts, VR Rollercoaster or the 1D Dungeon Crawler were really fun to play. Cosplayers were EVERYWHERE and I got A LOT of pictures with them including some famous youtubers like YOGSCAST or The Mighty Jingles. I cannot upload most of the pictures including the one with MASTER CHIEF that was 2 meters tall. I have them on my camera that is now at my friend's house as I left it in his car. Overall I got a lot of FREE stuff including :

- 1 Limited Edition MGS V Jacket

- 17 T-Shirts including Mad Max, Destiny, Fallout, Skyrim, MGS V, etc

- 5 key lace things

- 1 Street Fighter mug I won in the competition

- 1 Street Fighter bandana

- 1 Fallout 4 Pip Boy mask

- 30 liters of TORNADO ENERGY DRINK. DON'T JUST WIN! DO DAMAGE!

- TONS of stickers, promo codes, badges, posters etc

Overall, a very thorough review SA. I've been dying to get some feedback on the Division and RS: Siege. Two games I've been watching since E3. Battlefront might just be a contender to look into, but personally I have never really been a big Star Wars fan.
