The Commanding Officer of the Unknown Soldiers has reposed special trust and confidence in the patriotism, valor, fidelity and professional excellence of Shorev. In view of these qualities and his demonstrated leadership potential and dedicated service to the Unknown Soldiers and Charlie Company, he is, therefore, promoted to the rank of Second Lieutenant O-1, effective immediately. Shorev has gone on quite a journey to get to where he is today. In the last several months, he has taken Charlie Company from a holding pattern to growing not only in numbers but also in a set of solid NCOs who are constantly doing work to keep it moving forward. Shorev has grown from running Charlie day-to-day, to building up the leaders around him who run the company. He has structured Charlie around the unique talents of those leaders, to ensure they are set up for success and best use of their skills. In my mind, this is one of the marks of a successful commander.
