Guest Krawll
I will give that a try. Turns out my CPU was never OCed. The switch on the motherboard says that the 2 switches in the on side are default. So it was never over clocked. However, my CPU is sopposed to be 3.4 but was funning at 3.8. Not sure why it did that. I remember something downloaded from the MOBO drivers. Some easy OC thing. I clicked on it to see how the system worked but my computer made a funny noise and i just ended the proccess through task manager. I hope this wasnt the problem. Guest Senth
yeah dont use windowed ocing program.. Well for GPU is fine but for mobo, cpu should be done in bios. Usually the ATI catalyst suite take cares of most of ati mobo drivers. but for lan, audio might have to get the driver from ur manufacture website here is the link for the ati catalyst http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx download the mobo/intergrated driver one. i found out there is 2 type of ur cpu 140 w vs 125w . sometime the mobo wont support high wattage cpu make sure ur mobo can support up to 140w incase u did get the 140 watt. also the max voltage on these chips are 1.425. i think ur initial voltage was too high thats the one reason it was crashing. So lower ur voltage to 1.40 if can on stock http://products.amd.com/en-us/DesktopCPUSideBySide.aspx?id=617&id=
Guest Krawll
ok after doing what you said. I started my computer back up after restarting the bios settings. Nothing is overclocked but my CPU is still running at 3.8. My CPU is the 140W version. After look at the website I notice my CPU is on the list. http://www.msi.com/index.php?func=prodcpu2&prod_no=1874&maincat_no=1 I have the highest voltage CPU allowed on this board lol.
Guest RET.CW4.ThievingSix=US=
Your almost as unlucky as 2dye krawll :D, most people don't have this many problems when upgrading their computers, i never has a problem when i installed a new harddrive, ram or graphics card. Just a question, when you reapply the heatsink are you putting new thermal compound on the cpu?, you must do this everytime you take the heatsink off the CPU and you must clean off the old thermal compound. Guest Senth
hmmm its a nvidia chipset mobo.. Then dont install ATI Catalyst. Go to nvidia.com to get proper chipset driver. if your cpu is running 3.8 then i think the bios auto multiply it.. down mulitply by 2 or 1.5 and bring it down to stock speed. Or try to turn off the auto OC from the switch on the mobo.
Guest Krawll
I do almost every time. I did reapply some last night but not today when I took it off. I am trying to down clock it but not sure exactly what multiplyer to down clock. Since it is at out, I am not sure what it currently is.
Guest Senth
i downloaded your mobo manual. its going to be easy for me to guide u with it.. ill be on TS we can work this together. another way is to have another computer or laptop connected to TS and work with the bios as we talk. Guest Senth
Temp 3 doesnt looks right at all. anything thing above 65 is no good at all. Thats usually CPU temp. Something is not right. i wish i could go to ur house and help you. Lets setup a time that we can figure this out.. my msn is Citpapajohn@hotmail.com. im usually on during work 11 to 7.
