In the Name of the Tsar and the CTE

In the Name of the Tsar is the latest DLC for Battlefield 1 players. This new expansion takes us to the eastern front and introduces the Russian Army. Although it actually introduces us to the Russian Empire, the White Army, and the Red Army. More on these different armies later but I would like to give Dice a nod as they are drawing on some history showing us these three “different” armies from the same country during the first world war. The new DLC drops 6 (yes, that’s 6) maps for players to tackle. Lupkow pass, Albion, Galicia, Brusilov Keep, Tsaritsyn, and Volga River. To be fair I haven’t had a whole lot of time on the new maps, but I can say they have a slightly d…

Division is opening up a new unit for members that want to participate in our new secondary game, ARMA 3. Here are the important details as announced at tonight's meeting: With ARMA 3 now an official secondary clan game, we are beginning to form the unit. Interested members who join this unit will still be a member of their branch and their primary responsibilities will lie with the primary game. This means that it will function similarly to JSOC, which has it's own CoC for matters that relate strictly to the functions of the unit. I will be making a thread to sign up for this unit in the new ARMA sub-forum. The new sub-forum and TS channel is active. Please use those…

Second Clan Game Announcment - Arma 3 1 2
by Guest RET.Maj.ShadowOp=US=- 28 replies

Just as a clarification since I got asked this: We will be supporting both BF1 & ARMA 3. BF1 will still be a clan game. You've talked about it, you've passed it up, and after extensive JCS discussion we have decided to move forward with it. For a long time unknown soldiers has been a single game clan but based on what we've heard from members, and our leadership discussions, it seems that the interest and the structure exists to now facilitate more than that. Based on the style of our clan we've opted to go with Arma 3 for the following reasons: 1. Military Simulation 2. Member interest / Many members already own this game 3. Extensive mod-abillity 4. Gam…

They Shall Not Pass

The new DLC for Battlefield 1 has released for everyone that doesn’t have premium. They Shall Not Pass is the theme and it introduces the French Army. A short side note for history here, when you think about the French Army, they typically are remembered for the abysmal defense in WWII,in the Great War however things were different. The French Army held the Germans until British reinforcements arrived, no small feat. So back to the game, while this author has played a few rounds of the new maps, I wanted to give my first impressions of the maps and game play. Verdun Heights This map is a rendition of the infamous Battle of Verdun. An almost year long engagement was o…

Quick whisper setup using channel commander mode for tactical squad creation
by Guest RET.Maj.ShadowOp=US=- 1 reply

After playing the other night with many in the BF1 channel I wanted to make it easier to quickly get into sub channels as squads and use whispers in order to coordinate. To do this I've enabled the channel commander option for all user groups. What this does it it allows you to set up a whisper that will communicate with all other channel commanders (squad leaders) under your parent channel. If you like leading a squad i highly recommend you set this up so you can get whispers working and help your squads work together in seconds instead of minutes. Below are some instructions on how to set up your channel commander whisper. ! - You only have to setup your hotke…

Welcome back Unknown Soldiers! The new forums are now live, but we are still far away from being finished. In addition to the planned or promised functionalities that are not yet finished or implemented, there is still a lot of theming to be done. This software contains over 250 template files. A big chunk of those has already been customized to our needs, but there's still a lot that we haven't yet looked at. Hence there will be a lot of smaller - and some bigger - changes made over the upcoming couple of weeks. If at any point you think something does not fit in or the look of a certain page doesn't feel right, report a bug so we can track it and finish everything…

Good evening Unknown Soldiers, after some difficulties moving over our existing Tapatalk forum due to a URL change we finally managed to get that done as well. If you prefer using a native app rather than your web browser for using our forum and would like to get push notifications on new conversation messages or replies to your threads, you can now use the Tapatalk client again (iOS/Android). The new forum can be found by searching for "=US= Unknown Soldiers". If you're already using Tapatalk, then you'll want to remove the old forums from your list, as that one is now dead.

We will keep our BF4 public servers up until 4th of November this is for those who do not have BF1 yet. As for our practice server it will be reduced to 10 slots and remain open until 21 November(This will help those still working on MOS). We should have our new BF1 servers bought after November 1. We will start with one public and one private, if they are as good as the ones we have for BF4 we will get a EU server.

Hello Unknown Soldiers, this post is to inform you that the new forums Engineering has worked on over the best part of the past year are now complete enough to be released. I am sure we would have been able to put a lot more work into these new forums and their functionalities, but that would have only postponed their release until much later. In fact, we'll continue to work hard on bringing much more functionality and design into them. All users registered on our current forum before the 3rd of November have been migrated (the latest user is "StoneShoota") an will be able to log in with their accustomed user name and password. All posts created before November 5th,…
