  Regulations Regarding Promotions and Awards

All probationary members will wear the RT as their rank in front of their name.

=US= 51-2
=US= members coming off of probationary status and becoming full members will automatically receive a promotion to no less then PVT (E-1) of the Branch they have joined.

=US= 51-3
=US= members coming off of probation who have served in their nations armed forces and/or ROTC/JROTC may receive the rank that they served at depending on the availability of a position as determined by =US= command staff. Proof such as a DD214 or other official document (official orders, etc.) will need to be supplied to either the =US Commanding Officer or the =US= Executive Officer to receive the rank. Members who served in ROTC will receive a rank no higher then E-4. JROTC/CAP will receive a rank no higher then E-3.

Requirements for promotion to E-5 and below should be determined by the platoon SGTs but final approval lies with the Branch CO/1SG.

Requirements for promotion to Platoon SGT should be determined by the Company 1SG but needs to be approved by the Branch CO.

Requirements for promotion to 1SG should be determined by the Individual Branch CO.

Commanding Officers are assigned only by the Joint Service CO, =US= XO, or =US= CO, with a majority vote of JCS members.

=US= 51-8
The =US= Commander may promote any member at anytime to any rank for any reason.

=US= 51-9
The =US= commander will conduct the promotion/awards ceremony (TS/Forum Post) for all officer commissioning and awards.

=US= 51-10
The Branch CO/1SG will conduct the promotion/awards ceremony (TS/Forum Post) for all positions within their company with exception to =US= 51-9. This duty falls to the =US= Commanding Officer/Executive Officer if there is no Branch CO/1SG assigned at the time. Branch CO's/1SG's may designate an senior NCO to conduct the promotion/awards ceremony in their absence.

Branch COs are responsible for posting all promotions for JCS review no later then 24hrs. prior to the awards ceremony.

=US= 51-12
All Officer Commissioning are voted on by JCS members. Majority vote is required for promotion to pass.

=US= 51-13
The Branch CO or JCS may disapprove any promotion recommendations for any reason they see fit.

=US= 51-14
Any full member of the =US= may submit a recommendation for an award for another member using their CoC.

=US= 51-15
Any member of someones CoC who receives a recommendation for an award or promotion from a lower ranking member must pass along the recommendation to the Branch CO/1SG for review. Complacency will not be tolerated.

=US= 51-16
Award recommendations must be submitted to the appropriate CoC, with a detailed explanation as to why they believe the member has earned this award. Member recommending the award may be required to submit evidence/proof of actions, or have witnesses available to verify action.

=US= members may not recommend or award themselves any medals or rank.
